Discipline is love for my tiny Houdini

If you could make your pet understand one thing, what would it be?

I’d want my chihuahua-maltese mix to know that every “no” and every tug on that new harness comes from love—not anger. She doesn’t need to fear my voice, because underneath it all I’m just trying to keep her safe from cars and bikes… and from herself.

Boundaries are just another way to say ‘you’re worth protecting’. I think she’ll feel that difference eventually—I’ll just keep the voice calm when I correct her, and warm when it’s done. A combo that speaks louder than words.
