Is a little chaos actually good for us?
Some seasons as a caregiver feel anything but calm. When I was caring for both of my parents, life became pure chaos. Different schedules, health scares, emotions running high — there were days I wasn’t sure how I’d keep going. Watching my dad, still so active at 94, suddenly lose his independence after breaking his hip broke something in all of us. I was rushing between hospital visits, trying to keep Mom emotionally steady, all while my own health was struggling.
In the middle of that storm, I learned something important: a little chaos, as painful as it is, can reveal how strong your heart really is. It forces you to set new priorities, ask for help, and finally admit when you’ve reached your limit. Chaos doesn’t feel like a gift in the moment, but looking back, it showed me what I was truly made of.
If you’re in a chaotic season right now, please know you’re not failing. You’re showing up, even when it’s hard — and that matters more than you know.
