Do you believe in karma?

I don’t believe in karma as a scoreboard in the sky. Nobody’s keeping a running total of who “deserves” what.

What I do believe is simpler: what you put out tends to find its way back. Not on a schedule. Not always to you. And not as payment.

You show up for someone who’s drowning, and later—maybe years later—someone shows up for you. Or they show up for the next person. That’s not the universe balancing books. That’s people choosing not to look away.

Caregiving taught me that. The quiet ones who keep going rarely get a trophy. They keep going. And somehow the kindness still travels.

But here’s where it goes deeper for me.

I don’t believe in karma. I believe in a God who sees what no one else sees.

There is no cosmic ledger that pays you back for every hard night. If there were, a lot of caregivers would have cashed in by now.

What there is, is this: you sow, and in God’s time something grows. Sometimes the harvest is peace you didn’t expect. Sometimes it’s a person who appears when you have nothing left. Sometimes it’s just the strength to get through one more day.

I have watched prayer and stubborn love carry people through things that should have broken them. That wasn’t luck. That wasn’t the universe “evening things out.” That was grace meeting the work you already did in the dark.

You don’t give so you’ll get. You give because that’s who you are. The rest is His.
