Well, my dearest brood, it has been an exciting time in the Sanchez household…Sadness prevails…Coach Haskins passed away from a heart attack and you can imagine how hectic it has been for Dad…calls, interviews on radio, TV etc…but, let me get to the roundup of he week…Winnie: Yahoo! thanks a lot for the Readers Digest!!!…and a million thanks for coming, Vic and Michael, and to Vic for helping Dad through his hectic time…here goes… Monday…Labor Day…golf for Dad…All American Futurity (races) at Sunland…Helen Patterson brought some great goodies…Dad and I split a juicy hamburger and fruit…Helen’s cherry cake was delicious… Tuesday…Movie across town…House Bunny…perfect for kids…went shopping…Dad picked up credentials for the football season at UTEP…he had been feeling pain on his left leg and it was very swollen…so we decided to go have it checked at the clinic…the nurse checked it and said that it might be a an artery or vein clogged up and could move to a dangerous position…she suggested that Dad go see Dr. Raja, his heart Dr…Dad called Maria the nurse and explained what was going on…she talked to Dr. Raja and he insisted that Dad go to emergency room at Sierra and have his leg checked immediately…so we went and they ran tests…it took a long time…after all was done they said that it wasn’t a blood clot…so we came home…leg still very swollen…we have been applying ice and Dad has been holding it up…thank God is wasn’t serious!!!! Wednesday…golf with the old fogies (only Martin)…had lunch and came home… Thursday…Sept. 4th…Vic arrived about 2pm…he drove and of course we went wild…went to Sunland, had lunch and invested …for dinner we went to Leo’s… Friday…Michael…the plane was on time so we picked him up…went to Sunland…ate there and at night we went to Santa Teresa for dinner…of course we got the royal treatment, even toasted with champagne…nice new waitress…we all enjoyed it Saturday…went to the races early…Dad, Vic and Michael dropped me off at home and went on to the Texas-UTEP game at the Sun Bowl…Dad was in the press box and Vic and Michael went to case the tailgating parties…did the El Paso scene at night…everyone exhausted…I stayed up until midnight and watched the game on TV…of course it was a blowout with Texas winning… Sunday…Michael’s last day (sadness)…went to the races and before Vic took Michael to the airport we watched the Dallas Cowboys win…at night we had some delicious chicken sandwiches from Burger King (Vic treated)…went to bed early since Vic was planning on leaving early Monday morning…he left at 5 a.m.…sadness … Big Guys gone… What can we say!!!…What a week…thanks for coming guys…thanks for the Readers Digest, Nita Ann…we missed you…hope all is well with all…miss your calls, Daniel…take care, David, Marie and kids…Hi to all…God Bless You All…love you…Mom |
